Is VOUT self-custodial?
The on-chain wallet is: its keys and signing stay on your device, and it keeps the RGB state used to validate your assets. VOUT Lightning is a separate custodial service. VOUT holds that balance and runs the node. Moving funds into it changes who controls the funds until they return to an on-chain wallet.

Can I recover everything with my recovery phrase?
The phrase recovers keys when used with the correct passphrase, address type, and account derivation. It does not reconstruct missing RGB contracts and transfer proofs from Bitcoin. Keep an encrypted full-state backup for each account and network that holds RGB state.
That wallet backup is also not a backup of your chats or a withdrawal mechanism for a VOUT Lightning service balance. Back up and restore explains the scope of each recovery method.
Why do I need Bitcoin to use an RGB asset?
RGB ownership is tied to Bitcoin outputs. The wallet may need a suitable output for a receive seal or an issuance, and an on-chain transfer requires Bitcoin transaction fees. The amount kept in a carrier output remains BTC owned by the wallet; distinguish it from the fee paid to miners.
Can any RGB wallet receive from VOUT?
Support for RGB is not enough to establish compatibility. The wallets must agree on the network, protocol and schema, invoice, and proof-delivery behavior. VOUT targets compatible fungible RGB v0.12 assets. Check Wallet compatibility and test a small transfer with the actual software versions before relying on a new route.
Why is an asset visible but not in my balance?
A directory entry describes a contract. Adding or viewing it does not create an allocation in your wallet. A payment must reach the required proof-validation and chain-confirmation stages before the wallet can make it available.
The sender has a transaction ID. Has my RGB payment arrived?
A transaction ID identifies the Bitcoin transaction. Your wallet also needs the correct RGB proof and must validate the allocation intended for your request. Inspect the receive status, not just the transaction in an explorer. How a transfer settles follows the complete sequence.
Does a VOUT-to-VOUT payment use a Lightning channel?
A payment between accounts on the same service can settle internally on the ledger. An external Lightning payment needs the node and a supported route. An internal RGB balance transfer therefore does not demonstrate an RGB payment crossing a native RGB channel.
Can I send RGB to a Bitcoin Lightning invoice?
A regular BTC invoice requests Bitcoin. An RGB payment needs a supported request that identifies the asset and amount. VOUT’s RGB service requests and the native RGB channel implementation have their own constraints. Read Pay and receive for the available paths.
A payment failed to return a result. Should I send it again?
Open its saved activity first. A network timeout may happen after the wallet or service has already submitted something. VOUT keeps uncertain operations pending while it reconciles the result. Starting a second payment can create a second spend. Use the continuation shown for the original payment, or contact support with its visible status.
Does a listed asset have VOUT’s endorsement?
A listing supplies information for discovery. It does not guarantee the issuer’s claims, a redemption arrangement, market value, or compatibility with every wallet. Check the Contract ID and assess any external promises separately.
Where can I find the VOUT SDK?
These docs do not publish a supported VOUT SDK. The builder guide describes how to scope an integration. Contact VOUT about the interfaces and support your application needs before depending on an internal service.
What can I safely send to support?
The app version, device model, network, visible error, and expected result usually help. A public transaction ID can help with a chain-related problem. Never share a recovery phrase, private key, passcode, or backup password. Avoid posting a live payment request or proof package in a public channel. Use the contacts on Official links.
