Install VOUT

Start from an official VOUT download link. A wallet app will ask you to create or import keys that can control your funds, so the source of the installation matters.

The release status page records which builds and features are available. These guides describe the current VOUT interface; an installed store version may have fewer options.

iPhone

Open the VOUT Wallet listing on the App Store . Check the app name and its link back to VOUT before installing. The store listing provides the device requirements and the version available in your region.

If you already use VOUT, update the existing app. Keep your wallet data in place. Deleting the app to get a newer version can remove the local records that an RGB wallet needs.

Android

Download the APK from download.vout.app/vout.apk . It needs Android 8.0 or later. Release status records the version it currently serves. To check the file before installing, compare its SHA-256 with the published checksum .

Open the APK on your Android device and follow the system installation prompts. If Android asks for permission to install from the browser or file manager you are using, limit that permission to the installation and turn it off afterwards. Do not disable the device’s security checks to force an installation.

To update, install the newer APK over the existing app. Android keeps the wallet data because every APK from this address is signed with the same VOUT key. Do not uninstall first.

For Google Play availability, use the same status page. Follow VOUT’s official links rather than searching for a similarly named app or accepting an APK sent in a private message.

Before opening a wallet

Set a device passcode and make sure you have somewhere to keep recovery information outside the phone. You will need a separate password for an encrypted VOUT backup; the wallet’s six-digit passcode serves a different purpose.

On first launch, choose Create a wallet for new keys, or I already have one to import an existing wallet. If you are moving an RGB wallet, read Back up and restore before importing anything. A recovery phrase alone cannot reconstruct its RGB proofs.

Never enter recovery words, a private key, or a backup password into a website claiming to activate the app. Those details belong only in the wallet’s recovery flow on your own device.
